Basic FATE (Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography) is a one-day hands-on echocardiography workshop aimed at non-cardiology physicians. The FATE approach is fast and easy to learn and can be applied in a multitude of clinical scenarios: perioperatively as well as in intensive care medicine, emergency medicine and resuscitation. FATE also provides a quick guidance to interpret echocardiographic findings and how to put them into clinical context.
Basic FATE teaches 2-dimensional imaging of the easiest cardiac views including M-mode. Although no prior ultrasound experience is required, it is highly recommended that delegates complete the online E-learning module prior to the workshop
